The NEW MS Centre and Charity Shop opened on Monday 22nd March. If you look at the pictures you will see that it is so much more than just 'another' charity shop.

The Society secretary, Jane has long held the hope of creating a drop in centre for anyone with MS, their family and carers. It seemed a pipe dream to many, but they hadn't taken into account Jane's drive and determination.

Her enthusiasm has paid off. Not only was the shop opened on schedule but so has the Coffee Pot. The shop and coffee shop proved very popular and was busy all day for it's first day of trading. The Coffee Pot serving lots of tea, coffee, cold drinks and delicious cakes. I believe the rock cakes sold out early in the day.

The centre now boasts changing room, disabled toilet facilities, MS information centre and soon, a treatment room where various therapies can take place.

Jane would like to thank all the volunteers she bribed, beat and blackmailed into helping make it work. So many people gave their time and effort willingly to make it happen. The usual stalwarts making huge efforts.

The new Centre offers private rooms where you can get help finding out more about MS. Talking about your problems in confidence, is sometimes the first step in getting help. At the centre you will find others that have been in the same situation. You can find out about joining the MS society too.
